One of the three former Minneapolis cops charged with second-degree manslaughter and second-degree unintentional murder in the death of George Floyd has agreed to plead guilty to the former charge in exchange for prosecutors dropping the latter.
As part of the agreement, former officer Thomas Lane will be sentenced to only three years in jail for his role in Floyd's death.
Some may consider this decision to be just, while others will consider it to be diet justice at best.
